October update...

Wow does the time fly by anymore!
Guess I haven't been all that good at keeping up with this blog after all!

We have been busy with school and soccer lately. Got all the calves shipped the past few weeks.

Everybody is doing well. Daddy  is about fully recovered from his horse kick. The big kids are enjoying soccer practice and games.
Just been busy trying to keep up with all of it. Things will slow down soon around here though and we will settle into more of a routine for the winter months I think.

COWPOKE  is changing every day. He is growing so fast. He rolls over both ways and loves playing with toys now. The kids think he is a riot the way he likes to carry on a conversation with you now. He is also getting his first two teeth in. Don't grow up too fast little buddy!
I know every parent says so, but ...what a cutie pie!!
I just LOVE the expression in this picture! He is such a character!
He is such a happy little fellow. He is smiling all the time!

Well, we are back online finally! We lost the internet satelite after the last big storm and have been w/o for almost 2 weeks. I sure missed it, especially since we have been w/o tv all summer and so like to check the news and weather over the internet. Anyways, we are now hooked up to a  new high speed internet, so no more satelite. Seems to be a few gliches still w/clicking on links, but hopefully get that worked out soon. Does seem a bit faster.

We have to go in a minute to meet the internet guy and pick up our cat! He just called me and said he got all the way back and opened up the back and there sat our orange cat, Spike! Thankfully he is a very nice internet guy who went to school with Daddy!

All three big kids joined soccer last night. Just 1 practice/week and games and only lasts Sept. and Oct., so hopefully will be able to handle that.

Had my sister visiting us for a week and we all had a good time. We went up to the mountains for another hotdog roast and got a nice pic. of the kids that day.

Caught a cute one!

Lil Squirt at 9 weeks

Yes, I finally caught a good smile on the camera. Squirt loves to smile and coo at everybody now, but when I pull the camera out he often frowns at me like this....

Hey you funny metal thing, where did momma go?

Then I put the camera down and there comes the smile.
So I was quick and caught one finally....

Hey! Momma is back!

Ok, get ready...get set.... here is a pic. of COWPOKE sleeping in the bassinet for the first time!! He spends most of his day and night sleepy hours in my arms, on my chest, in the sling or in the front carrier I have. And no, he doesn't like the swing or the bouncy seat. Everytime I lay him down asleep on his back he startles and wakes up within a min., but he does like to sleep on his tummy. I know, I know...a big no no. Don't worry, I will keep holding him through most of his naps and loving every minute. Because I know in no time at all he will be walking and won't want me to hold him anymore.

Ranch Rodeo!

releasing the steer.

"Rancher" was in the ranch rodeo again this year. A good time was had by all and other than him getting kicked by a calf in the hand resulting in some swelling and scrapes, everybody faired pretty well. The kids had a good time cheering for Dad and he had a good time getting together for one night with all the local cowboys. Their team placed 3rd and they won enough money to pay their entry fee and buy themselves a snack for the way home!

cheering for Dad.Cowpoke was asleep in the sling.

Cowpoke 8 weeks. A happy little fellow.

Flying W Ranch

We always let our kids pick a special activity to do for their birthdays. For the 2nd year in a row COWBOY wanted to go to the Flying W Ranch. Our neighbors/friends  had their grandkids here visiting, so they all went up too. We didn't have much time to look around the "flying w town" this time, but we did enjoy the good food and the great music.

Oh, and little COWPOKE enjoyed the evening from the comfort of his sling. Even in the cool evening he stayed nice and toasty. He was actually awake the entire time smiling at me from inside his sling. Everybody needs a sling; wish I had one babies past; they are great!

All the kids enjoying their meal.

Daddy enjoying his meal

enjoying the show.

You can barely see the singers in the background. We didn't get any of COWPOKE  that night, so here is one from today...7 1/2 wks. His hair is starting to fill back in and is coming in very light. He is very expressive.

July is coming to an end!

Been enjoying a rainy week here this week. Kids are enjoying the last of the summer break.
Here they are up on top of a clay pile. Notice that Cowgirl lost a little hair? At her request I chopped off 10'' for Locks of Love. She loved her long hair, but is enjoying it short just as much.

Cowpoke is changing so much so quickly. He loves smiling and cooing now. He will be 7 weeks tomorrow...WOW! He weighs about 10 lbs now.

6 1/2 weeks here.
Cute smile!

Cowboy turns 8!

July 20th Cowboy turned 8 years old. He is such a nice young man and is certainly a cherished part of our family. He has overcome so many obstacles and it is a joy to watch him grow. Hard to believe he is 8 years old now!

Cowpoke hanging out with Daddy.

Looking cute and getting active.
Checking out big sister.

Cowpoke  5 WEEKS

He  is getting chubbier.
This summer the boys played ball! Pistol  played T-ball and Cowboy  played machine pitch baseball. Practice was 2x/week and they each had 4 or 5 games. It made for a few hectic dashes out the door with a new baby, but we enjoyed it a lot and are sad to see it end for the summer. And Lil Cowpoke  attended his first ball game at 5 days old!

We enjoyed a hotdog/burger roast in the mountains. Cowpoke slept through it all in his sling.

June 5th Pistol. turned 5! We took him out to lunch at his favorite place, The Country Buffet (where he enjoys serving himself and having unlimited beverages!), and then celebrated by going min. golfing and go-cart riding.

Welcome Lil Cowpoke!!

So many of you have yet to see our newest little Cowpoke. I keep meaning to email pics. and print and snail mail pictures, but alas it just hasn't been done yet. So, I am going to give this a go and see how long I can keep it up.

Our family welcomed little Cowpoke on June 12th. He was a healthy 7 pounder and of course we think he is as cute as can be!

Time passes so quickly and little Cowpoke is becoming a big boy at 5 weeks old tomorrow! We are all enjoying him so much. He is smiling at us now and the kids get such a kick out of that. Pistol  is so thrilled to be the big brother now and really is quite fond of his little brother.

Enjoying every special moment of being parents!
